Dr. Ibrahim Awad joins the MENA Economic Research Forum Affiliate Program

Forum in the MENA region (ERF). The forum represents 20 countries in the MENA region, with 70 percent of all affiliates residing in the MENA region. Currently, there are 311 affiliates: 179 Research Fellows, 66 Research Associates, 42 Senior Associates and 24 Policy Affiliates. ERF affiliates are considered the backbone of the forum for this network.

Al-Quds University and Julich Institute host a two-day workshop on research management

On November 4th and 5th Al- Quds University and Julich Institute and the Palestinian German Science Bridge PGSB organized a two-day Research Management Workshop! In this workshop, experts from AQU and Julich discussed different challenges faced by Palestinian researchers such as external funding, innovation strategy, young investigators support and cultural competency.

A new study reports higher knowledge scores about COVID-19 precautionary measures by Al-Quds University dental students!

A recent study published by Dr. Ruwaa Alawiya, Dr. Abanob Riyad and Dr. Elham Kateeb, showed that AQU dental students scored higher than dental students in the American Arab University AAU in the three scales of knowledge about COVID-19, “COVID-19 Symptoms,” “Pathways of Transmission,” and “Diagnosis” techniques. On the other hand, perceptions of outpatient clinics’ preparedness for the pandemic were better among AAU students.

Al-Quds University is now a member of the Academic Network for Development Dialogue (ANDD)

On the 14th of July 2020, participants from 16 academic and research entities from the region, along with the Academic Council of the United Nations (ACUNS), Qatar University, and Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), welcomed Al-Quds University as a founding member of the Academic Network for Development Dialogue (ANDD).  Al-Quds University was represented by Dean of Scientific Research, Dr. Elham Kateeb.

A research proposalfrom Al-Quds University has been selectedas part of the Al-Maqdisi 2020-2022 program

A research team from Al-Quds University has received the Al-Maqdisi program 2020-2022 grantto support a research project aiming at the discovery of new genes involved in familial Mediterranean fever (FMF). This research project,which extends over a period of two years,will be coordinated by Dr. Fawaz Awad and Dr Zaidoun Salah from Al-Quds University, and Professor Sonia Karabina and Dr. Irina Giurgea from the Sorbonne University in France.The project will also be conducted in collaboration with a number of medical specialists in Palestine.

SCORE/PMSA and Medical College Student Research Club organized the first Student Research Day for this year

The SCORE/PMSA committee at Al-Quds University completed an activity entitled “The Research Day” on November 21st for medical students at Al-Quds University. During  the “Research Day” two training workshops were conducted by members of the  Student Research Club at the Medical college, Evidence-Based Medicine (EBM) and How to Read a Research Paper. This was followed by two motivational speeches  by Dr. Ibrahim Al-Salibi, a recent graduate of AQU Medical College and Dr. Elham Kateeb, the Dean of Scientific Research at AQU,  to emphasize the importance of  conducting research while being an undergraduate.
