Al-Quds University Releases Second Issue of Al-Quds Journal for Academic Research/Social Sciences
Jerusalem, June 14, 2023 - Al-Quds University is delighted to announce the release of the second issue of the Al-Quds Journal for Academic Research - Humanities and Social Sciences. Managed by the Deanship of Scientific Research at Al-Quds University and led by a highly competent editorial team, this open-access, peer-reviewed journal aims to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and ideas in the fields of humanities and social sciences.
Al-Quds University Holds the 5th Annual Undergraduate Research Conference with Wide National and Regional Participation
The Dean of Scientific Research at Al-Quds University held the activities of the fifth conference for undergraduate research in collaboration with Al-Quds Bard College. The event was held under the patronage of the University President, Dr. Imad Abu Kashk, and featured the participation of student researchers from Palestinian and regional universities, as well as several high schools.

Al-Quds University honored its academic researchers and students for their outstanding efforts during the "University of Jerusalem Award for Scientific Research for the Academic Year 2021-2022" ceremony, organized by the university's Dean of Scientific Research and attended by the university's President, Dr. Imad Abu Kishek, and its academic and student researchers.
A new research Training Funding Opportunity at AQU in collaboration with MIT (PalUROP Project)
This project aims to contribute to the educational experience of students in Palestine, by connecting them and their local mentors with international research projects and facilitating collaborations. It is not set up to arrange student travel outside of Palestine.
Al-Quds University Places Third in the Youth Exceptional Speakers (YES) International Symposium 2022
Israa’ Baker, a dental student, places third in the Youth Exceptional Speakers (YES) Symposium for the year 2022 that was held as part of Makkah International Dental Conference and Exhibition at Umm Al-Qura University in Makkah, Saudi Arabia at the end of October. She was among the six winners of the first round of 26 competitors from different Arab countries.
AQU ranks first Palestinian university according to SCIMAGO World University Rankings 2022
Al-Quds University ranked first among the Palestinian universities according to the SCIMAGO World University Rankings for the first quarter of 2022, while it ranked 27th in the Arab world, and 660th out of 8000 prestigious universities and research institutions worldwide. According to SCIMAGO ranking system, Al-Quds University ranked first in the Palestinian territories in the fields of Energy, Medicine, and Pharmacology, and 20th and 21st in the Arab world in Energy and Medicine, respectively. This classification is based on the indicators of the research tool, innovation outputs, and social impact.

AQU and The British Council Organize Inaugural Webinar in UK-Palestine Webinars Program: Grant Crafting and Research Funding
The Deanships of Scientific Research at Al-Quds University and Bethlehem University, in collaboration with the British Council-Palestine, successfully organized the first webinar of the UK-Palestine Webinars Program. The highly anticipated event, titled "How to Win Research Funding? - Grant Crafting Workshop," aimed to equip participants with the necessary skills to excel in grant proposal writing and explore funding opportunities.
New Study by AQU and Temple University researchers identifies Behavioral and Social Factors Contributing to Early Childhood Decay in Jerusalem area and present Recommendations for effective Interventions
Associate Professor of Dental Public Health, Elham Kateeb, in collaboration with Temple University's Oral Epidemiology and Statistics team, conducted a study on the prevalence and risk factors associated with early childhood caries (ECC) among Palestinian preschoolers living in the Jerusalem area. The study's findings, published in BMC Oral Health, provide insights into the behavioral and social determinants of ECC in this population and highlight the need for community-based interventions to address the issue.
A Collaboration Project between Dundee University and Al-Quds University: Virtual Student Dental Clinic
Al-Quds University and the University of Dundee have worked in collaboration to create Virtual Clinics for 4th year dental students. Within these clinics, 2-3 students from each university meet online through Zoom. They spend the first part of the clinic getting to know each other in an ‘Ice breaker’ session followed by working together to solve an Oral surgery/Oral medicine case study. The first of these Virtual clinics was implemented in January 2022 with the expectation that at least one clinic per month will be held till the end of the University academic year.

One hundred and eighty-eight students and junior researchers participated in 4-day workshop about “Writing for Publishing” organized by the Deanship of Scientific Research at Al-Quds University and Organization for Women in Science (OWSD)- Palestine chapter.

The launch of the Global Oral Health module at Al-Quds University in collaboration with the Charité University! This module is considered a great learning experience for dental students on global oral health, Students will learn through this module how they could help mainstream oral health across the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
