AQU and The British Council Organize Inaugural Webinar in UK-Palestine Webinars Program: Grant Crafting and Research Funding

The Deanships of Scientific Research at Al-Quds University and Bethlehem University, in collaboration with the British Council-Palestine, successfully organized the first webinar of the UK-Palestine Webinars Program. The highly anticipated event, titled "How to Win Research Funding? - Grant Crafting Workshop," aimed to equip participants with the necessary skills to excel in grant proposal writing and explore funding opportunities.

The inaugural webinar took place on the 13th of June 2023, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Jerusalem Time, and was conducted online via the AQU Zoom Platform.  More than 160 participants from diverse locations joined the workshop.

Esteemed experts in the field shared their valuable insights and expertise during the webinar. David Stevenson from the University of St Andrews, and Samer Radad from Al-Quds University served as presenters, guiding participants through the intricacies of crafting successful research proposals. They covered best practices, outlined effective processes, and provided an overview of grants and fellowships.

In addition to these core topics, the webinar shed light on collaborative international research opportunities. Participants had the opportunity to broaden their horizons and explore potential partnerships with prestigious universities and institutions from around the world. The presence of leading scholars in the workshop facilitated engaging discussions and created a platform for networking and knowledge exchange.

The event was skillfully moderated by Elham Kateeb from Al-Quds University and Robin Banerjee from the University of Sussex.

The workshop was conducted in both English and Arabic languages, with translation services available for Arabic-speaking participants.

The UK-Palestine Webinars Program is a collaborative initiative between the British Council (Palestine), Palestinian Universities, and British Universities. Partner universities in this program include Al-Quds University, Bethlehem University, Birzeit University, University of Exeter, University of Lancaster, University of St Andrews, and University of Sussex. The program seeks to foster academic exchanges, knowledge sharing, and research collaboration between Palestine and the United Kingdom.

The success of the webinar is a testament to the dedication and collaborative efforts of Al-Quds University, Bethlehem University, and the British Council-Palestine. Their commitment to supporting researchers and advancing scientific knowledge was evident throughout the event.
