New Study by AQU and Temple University researchers identifies Behavioral and Social Factors Contributing to Early Childhood Decay in Jerusalem area and present Recommendations for effective Interventions

Associate Professor of Dental Public Health, Elham Kateeb, in collaboration with Temple University's Oral Epidemiology and Statistics team, conducted a study on the prevalence and risk factors associated with early childhood caries (ECC) among Palestinian preschoolers living in the Jerusalem area. The study's findings, published in BMC Oral Health, provide insights into the behavioral and social determinants of ECC in this population and highlight the need for community-based interventions to address the issue.

A Collaboration Project between Dundee University and Al-Quds University: Virtual Student Dental Clinic

Al-Quds University and the University of Dundee have worked in collaboration to create Virtual Clinics for 4th year dental students. Within these clinics, 2-3 students from each university meet online through Zoom. They spend the first part of the clinic getting to know each other in an ‘Ice breaker’ session followed by working together to solve an Oral surgery/Oral medicine case study. The first of these Virtual clinics was implemented in January 2022 with the expectation that at least one clinic per month will be held till the end of the University academic year.

The launch of the Global Oral Health module at Al-Quds University in collaboration with the Charité University! This module is considered a great learning experience for dental students on global oral health, Students will learn through this module how they could help mainstream oral health across the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
