Under the auspices of Dr. Imad Abu Kishk, the President of Al-Quds, and Dr. Marwan Awartani, The Palestinian Minister of Higher Education: AQU Deanship of Scientific Research and AQB virtually held the 3rd Undergraduate Research Conference, yesterday, Tuesday 27th, Oct. 2020.
More than 50 college and school students participated and presented their researches which all have been reviewed, revised, and discussed by committees’ judges. Committees have included 27 judges from different academic backgrounds such as IT and engineering, medicine and dentistry, public health and nutrition, natural sciences, pharmacy, and humanities.
Dr. Emad Abu Kishk has acknowledged the importance of scientific research and the role of the University in enhancing the academic movement in the region, which aims for an institutional rebirth oriented towards research instead of schooling.
On his side over Zoom platform, Dr. Marwan Awartani pointed out the contribution of Al-Quds University in the field of research and reaching out to public schools to include them in the process. In addition, Dr. Awartani indicated particularly the impact of AQB through its Master of Arts in Teaching Program which aims to foster teachers’ research skills.
Later on, Dr. Daniel Terris, AQB Dean has addressed the virtual crowd in a speech - recorded from the front yard of his office in Massachusetts State- emphasized the significance of research these days than ever since the breakout of the Covid-19. Dr. Terris expressed his pride in the contribution of the College in organizing this conference and facilitating its progress, in order to encourage students from different Palestinian universities to share their work and research.
On her side, Dr. Elham Kateeb, AQU Dean of Scientific Research, presented on the progress of this signature event that is expanding year after year due to the acceptance it receives from today's students. Dr. Kateeb said that this conference is the culmination of the research clubs' work at Al-Quds University, which also conforms fully with the work of the deanship and the university to restructure the scientific research and develop its environment, pointing out that the conference is a training to promote students to participate in international and regional conferences and journals.

Pharmacy Session
Sajeda Makhamra and Rawan Al-Assa- Al-Quds University won the first place, and Iman Salameh and Shahd Awwad- Al-Quds University won the second place, under the supervision of Dr. Hussein Al-Hallak.
Engineering and IT Session
Hana' Qasrawi and Dana Shawar - Palestine Polytechnic University came in the first place, under the supervision of Dr. Amal Dwiek, and Baraa Dandees, Rahaf Saghir and Yumna Al Junidi came in the second place under the supervision of Dr. Nidal Abu Rajab.
Natural Sciences Session
Jamila Ayyad - Al Quds Bard College was awarded the first place under the supervision of Dr. Mahmoud Khalid, by Aysha Abu-Fanar, Bisan Al-Jabary and Maalem Hrinat - Palestine Polytechnic University were awarded the second place under the supervision of Dr. Murad Ishnaiwer and Dr. Fawzi Al-Razem.
Public Health and Nutrition Session
Al-Quds University team involving Nidal Jabrini, Sali Abu Fardi, Huda Abu Issa, Wasim Al-Sharabati, Atef Rimawi, Tamer Al-Jafari, Majeda Groof, Bayan Al-Joulani, Bassam Abu Hamad and Aseel Abu Hbees came in the first place, under the supervision of Dr. Rania Abu Seir and Dr. Akram Kharroubi, and al-Azhar University's team involving Amany Alser, Ahmed Darwish, Khaled Hussein, Amani Al-Abasi, Heba Al-Astal, Lemees Sabbah came in the second place, under the supervision of Prof. Fadel Naim and Dr. Fawzy Sharaf.
Medicine and Dentistry Session
Al-Quds University won the first and the second places, in the first place came Raghad Saleh, Mayar Danadneh, Hiba Khrishie and Ruba Nieroukh under the supervision of Dr. Elham Kateeb, and in the second place came Mayar Edkaidek, Niveen Al-Sharif, Beesan Mereb, Aseel Rishiq, Alaa' Al-Hleqawi, Mohammad Khalil and Sarah Idkiedek under the supervision of Dr. Hussein Hallak.
Schools Session
Batool Al-Natsheh - Wedad Nasser Al-Den School won the first place, under the supervision of Miss. Abeer Qanibi, and the second place was awarded by two winners ,The first team included Saif Amer and Khalil Hamad – Al-Nayzak Institute and Palestine American School, under the supervision of Miss. Fatma Idrees and Mr. Kamal Al-Masri, and the second team included Hammam Al-Jenedi – Al-Hussein Ben Ali High School, under the supervision of Mr. Tayseer Amro.
