Jerusalem| Al-Quds University honored a group of researchers in the fields of science and humanities, based on the results of the "Al-Quds University Prize for Scientific Research for Academic Year of 2016-2017". And the ceremony was held under the patronage of the President of the University, Dr. Imad Abu Kishk.
Al- Quds University and the Deanship of Scientific Research presents this award for the third year in a row in recognition of the efforts of researchers to promote scientific research, and to motivate distinguished and active academics and students. This comes with the increasing and distinguished scientific output which has emerged recently in a remarkable manner, and opened fruitful horizons and partnerships with international and local universities and the private sector.
The University has honored the Dean of the Faculty of Da'wah and Foundations of Religion, Dr. Mustafa Abu Sway, for his outstanding research achievements and for his book "Treasures of Al Ghazali" issued last year.
"The honor comes with the interest of Al-Quds University to promote the scientific research, especially with the development of the needs of the society and the urgent need to provide scientific solutions to many of the increasing problems," said Dr. Hassan Dweik, Executive Vice President of the University on behalf of the president of Al-Quds University, Imad Abu Kishk.
He assured that the University administration has allocated several committees to follow up and develop the research aspect of academics and students, and held many partnerships, and signed agreements at the local and international levels to achieve this.
The Dean of Scientific Research, Dr. Ilham Al-Khatib, said that the Al-Quds University Prize for Scientific Research is an assessment of its annual research output, highlighting research on creative ideas at the level of global knowledge or at the level of influence in the local community.
She pointed out that the university's recent higher education grant was a push forward. Research appeals for projects in various fields will be announced soon to researchers from the university and to students of the master's and bachelor's degrees.
Al-Khatib explained that the project of student research clubs is close to launching officially in cooperation with the Deanship of Scientific Research and Student Affairs and researchers from all faculties to supervise student gatherings aimed at creating a research environment conducive to creativity and learning.
The Assistant Rector for Research and Innovation and Development d. Issam Ishaq said: "The Al- Quds University aims to graduate students able to enter the labor market skillfully based on scientific and research bases developed, and pointed out that to achieve this, the University has worked to establish a pilot business incubator in the city of Jerusalem to serve the community of Jerusalem and the advancement of the Palestinian economy.
He added, "The university will introduce the course of leadership and creativity to its students to motivate them to crystallize creative ideas distinctive, and developed courses supported by the practical side."
At the end of the ceremony, the researchers were honored with the incentive awards for the academic year 2016-2017, the honoring of the Scientific Research Performance Committee, the Preparatory Committee for the Student Research Clubs, the members of the Scientific Research Council, the members of the Ethics Committee, the Deanship of Scientific Research and the website of the Deanship.
