Voluntary research group by Al-Quds University and Hebron Governorate

 “Academics at the Service of Khalil Al-Rahman” aspires to assist development in Hebron

JERUSALEM | Al-Quds University’s Department of Developmental Sciences, and  in collaboration with the Hebron Governorate, recently launched what they named “Academics at the Service of Khalil Al-Rahman”, a voluntary research group aspiring to aid and accelerate the development process and prosperity in Hebron. Created in the framework of the instructions of the President of Al-Quds University Professor Imad Abu Kishek, the research body seeks to serve the local community of Hebron and meet its developmental needs.

Eager to carry out several joint scientific and research activities in the form of developmental and investment ventures, the "Academics at the Service of Khalil Al-Rahman" endeavors to support the steadfastness of the residents of Hebron in the face of all obstacles and to accelerate overall development and prosperity in the district.

By such initiative, the university aims to continue to lead in Palestine through creating integrative partnerships with the various institutions in Hebron, in line with its belief in institutional and community partnership to serve all regions of the country.

Committed to the principles of teamwork, transparency, volunteering, and social responsibility, the Department of Developmental Sciences also plans to launch an incubator to further boost and integrate the research works of undergraduates and alumni from the Hebron District.

On this occasion, we should mention the joint scientific symposium of "Tourism and Development: Realities and Challenges"   which was organized in Hebron a few weeks ago by Al-Quds University, in addition to Al-Quds Open University, Hebron University, Ministry of Tourism, Hebron Municipality and Hebron Rehabilitation Committee. The event was attended by a host of Al-Quds University's academics and administrators led by Dr. Elham Khatib, Dean of Scientific Research. It offered a scientific, academic and cultural umbrella for the biggest convention held by multi Palestinian institutions in Hebron. In this conference, local and international researchers presented numerous scientific and research papers on themes related to tourism and development in the Hebron District.
