The Science Bridge Program at Al-Quds University provides research opportunities for students at German Julich Institutes

Jerusalem| In continuation of the series of research activities at Al-Quds University, the Deanship of Scientific Research at the University organized a workshop on "ways to benefit from the grants and projects of the German-Palestinian Science Bridge" (PGSP Julich).

The Director of the Foreign Relations Office at the University, Dr. Purple Stark, spoke about the joint research and exchange programs between the two countries, Germany and Palestine, the importance and advantages of the program and the ways of applying, and the conditions for completing a successful application giving several advices that would make Al- Quds University applications competitive with other universities.

The Dean of Scientific Research Dr. Elham Al Khatib said that this workshop is one of a series of workshops that will be provided periodically to researchers, students and faculty members, and she invited them to submit and exploit these opportunities for the benefit of the researcher, the university and the Palestinian society as a whole.

It is worth mentioning that the Science program bridge provides opportunities for students to carry out bachelor's and master's programs at the Julich Institutes of Germany, which is considered to be one of the most important German and European research centers, and offers full scholarships for doctoral studies and brief research visits for faculty members.

The program also encourages researchers at Al-Quds University to network with their German counterparts in research projects covering variety of topics and have important implications in the Palestinian society.

The Julich Center is one of the most important research centers in Germany and Europe. These opportunities include the ability of Master's students to research their theses or part of them in the laboratories of the Julich Center, which is equipped with a very advanced infrastructure and with the help of an experienced cadre of professors and researchers.

Undergraduate students can apply for short research visits at the center. There are also opportunities for to apply for PhD in Germany and research of their theses at the Julich Center, as well as opportunities for research partnerships between Palestinian researchers and their German counterparts on topics of mutual interest. 

The Julich Center includes several departments including the Brain and Neuroscience Department, the Department of Supercomputers, the Nanotechnology and Materials Science Department, the Photovoltaic and Renewable Energy Department.
