On December 2021, Associate Professor Nuha El Sharif and Issa Ghrouz-Faculty of Public Health published a new study in the Nutrition and Cancer Journal entitled “Diet and Genetic Risk Factors of Colorectal Cancer in Palestine: A Case-Control Study”. The article aimed to add evidence to the limited data available on colorectal cancer (CRC) from Palestine, and to examine the risk factors associated with CRC using a matched hospital-based case-control study. The results of this study confirmed the association between CRC and red meat intake and smoking, and proved that parental consanguinity and family history of cancer are also risk factors for CRC.
