On the 17th of January 2023, Dr. Mohammad M. Herzallah published a new study in the first issue of Nature Mental Health titled "From Neural Circuits to Communities: an Integrative Multidisciplinary Roadmap for Global Mental Health". The study proposes a novel integrative model that converges diverse disciplinary perspectives of mental health, from neural circuits to cognition to symptoms all the way through to interventions, that can be delivered at scale, with a potential for higher coverage, greater personalization, and greater efficacy than traditional diagnostic approaches. In essence, the proposed model follows the working model of the Palestinian Neuroscience Initiative at Al-Quds University to study mental health on a global scale while fulfilling local needs.
